Her work
INCLUDES music, editorial, fashion, documentary, sport, portraiture, weddings and product photography.
Clients include Adidas, Puma, The Art Paper, Art News, Ensemble Magazine, The All Blacks, NZ FOOTBALL — capturing Aotearoa talent from rappers to rugby players, painters to partners.
Sometimes, she directs films.
Crystal’s personal visual work is documentary-based. She is currently working on a photography book titled ‘竹根’ (zhú gēn) with her Mum, who was previously a photographer and has early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
This book will be a memoir on Cynthia Chen and her relationship with Crystal, as well as Crystal’s relationship to her roots.
They will have a book launch and exhibition in 2026/2027 in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.
